Verse

A voice unseen, yet speaking clear,

resounds through shadowed night;

No face appears, no form draws near,

yet faith beholds the Light.

Verse

It thundered once on Sinai’s hill,

yet clothed in cloud and flame;

It whispered soft by Jordan’s rill,

yet none could trace its Name.

Verse

The Shepherd calls; His sheep awake—

they know the tone, the breath;

A sound no silence dares to break,

a life that swallows death.

Verse

O Word beyond all tongue confessed,

O Flame no eye can see,

Enscribe Thy voice within our breasts,
and tune our song to Thee.

Verse

Till face to face we reunite,

and veils are torn away,

We walk by faith and not by sight,
and hear Thy voice alway.
