Antonio (A. J.) Higgins (b. 2005) is currently studying for a B. M. in Music Composition. He is dedicated to composing mesmerizing melodies and profound pieces for the praise of Christ. His compositions include: ▶️"Elegy to the Beloved," for xiao and piano (2023) ▶️ "Come, for thy wasted day is closing," an SATB motet (2023). ▶️ "Nostalgia of a Thousand Memories," suite for piano (2023) He is engaged in the study of music theory, counterpoint, and historically-informed composition. His aim is to write beautiful pieces using a variety of compositional techniques from all eras. His compositional journey started as a child, writing small songs on his ukulele. He is also a poet and hymnwriter, and plans to blend both the musical and literary arts as a church musician. In addition to composition, Antonio is also a vocalist, singing in both the Cedarville University Concert Chorale and the CU Madrigal Choir. As a young child, he would often sing at nursing homes and senior citizen centers. He has also sang at churches and in church worship bands.
