Héctor Guzmán (b. 2005) is currently a student at the University of Arizona, studying to obtain a B.A. in Spanish with a concentration in Translation & Interpretation and a B.A. in Creative Writing. Born into a family of Catholic musicians from Sonora, México, he has a fervent love for sacred music and hymnody. He was awarded the Tri-M Music Honor Society award by the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) in high school for his musical and academic accomplishments. He is a self-taught pianist and composer, and has authored numerous hymn texts. He also composes hymn tunes, psalm arrangements, choral anthems, and Catholic liturgical music.
